The MDC calls upon the police to immediately arrest the Zanu PF youths who have threatened the office and person of the Prime Minister of Zimbabwe. The Zanu PF threat on party President and Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai is a blatant attack not only on his person and office, but a reprehensible criminal act that threatens the inclusive government and the Global Political Agreement (GPA).

The MDC condemns as cheap grand-standing today’s so-called demonstration in Harare by hired Zanu PF youths on petty issues which have nothing to do with the daily challenges facing the people of Zimbabwe.

President Morgan Tsvangirai, who is also the Prime Minister of Zimbabwe, last week heard how ZANU PF is withholding food aid from Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) members in Matabeleland and Midlands provinces. The villagers, who are facing yet another dry agricultural season, said selective distribution of seed and fertilizer was one of the major reasons for their failure to reap significantly this season.
