Massachusetts Branch
( 1 item )
The Massachusetts Branch of the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) was officially formed on June 24, 2007 in Lowell, MA by Zimbabweans residing in and around New England region of the USA. The main branch objective is to assist in reestablishing democracy; through free and fair elections, rule of law and other basic human rights in Zimbabwe.
Since its birth in 2007, the branch has raised funds to assist in the above causes. Through the Free and Fair Election Campaign banner, the branch raised funds that were used to register MDC Candidates for the 2008 harmonized elections. The branch continues to send funds back home for humanitarian purposes.
Through its monthly meetings, the branch creates a platform for its members to share, analyze, debate and deliberate political, economic and social issues that affect Zimbabweans. In some instances, members receive feed back directly from leadership in Harare through teleconferences organized by the parent body, MDC-USA External Assembly.
