The MDC is deeply concerned by the attempts by Zanu PF and President Robert Mugabe to impose the Kariba draft as the Constitution of Zimbabwe.

The major highlight of the week was The President’s private dinner with party members in the United Kingdom. A report was received concerning disturbances at the Southwark Cathedral meeting.

At least 3000 people yesterday converged at the Kombayi Homestead in Gweru to bid farewell to MDC Midlands South provincial secretary, Senator Kombayi who died on 20 June 2008.

The High Court today granted bail to the MDC’s Director-General, Toendepi Shonhe.   This was after High court judge, Justice Felistas Chatukuta, dismissed an appeal by the State denying bail to Shonhe who was arrested last week on trumped-up charges of perjury.
